This summer we are rolling out a new Caddie Program at CommonGround, The Eisenhower Caddie Academy. We are asking for support from you, our core walking golfers and the best part is, it won’t cost you any additional money and you will be helping a kid learn and gain access to the great game of golf. The purpose of the Eisenhower Caddie Academy is to provide financially needy young men and women with the opportunity to learn and benefit from golf through caddying. The program will be a 10 week program starting after Memorial Day and going through the first full week of August. We will select 30 kids ages 14-16 for the Academy and put them through an orientation program throughout the month of April. Once they have completed their training these caddies will be made available to the golfers at CommonGround to help them with training. Your only “cost” is to share your passion for the game and to give something back to the next generation of golfer. This Academy is going to give kids a chance to benefit from the game of golf, a chance to develop skills that they will use both on and off the golf course, an opportunity to learn the caddie trade, and a potential path to qualify as an Evans Scholar. Our goal for 2012 is to have 30 caddies in the Academy each working 4 loops per week for 10 weeks. If successful, this would result in 1,200 caddie rounds. To read more about this program CLICK HERE
