OUTSIDE SERVICES ATTENDANT

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Outside Services Attendant is extremely valuable to how CommonGround presents itself to its customers and guests. This position is primarily responsible for the management and cleanliness of the golf carts, driving range and practice facilities. Position duties include:

COMPENSATION
 
$15 to $17 per hour

DUTIES
• Ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner and presentation of the facility remains at the highest levels.
• Open cart barn and stage golf carts for use by players each day.
• Clean and maintain all golf carts ensuring they are ready for their next use.
• Close and secure the cart barn each evening.
• Clean and maintain the cart storage facility and the staging area.
• Provide assistance with customer golf clubs when arriving or leaving the golf course where possible.
• Pick the practice driving range and wash range balls.
• Ensure the ball dispensing machine is stocked at all times.
• Ensure the range and practice facility is set up, organized and clean at all times.
• Monitor cleanliness of all areas around the clubhouse and practice facility.
• Monitor inventory levels of all guest supplies. Report when inventory is low to immediate supervisor.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of league and tournament events.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to work nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays if needed.

EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
Previous experience in a golf related service position is preferred.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Work performed is physical in nature and requires sufficient stamina and strength to:
     o Occasionally squat and kneel to perform golf instruction and assist in course maintenance.
     o Occasionally climb ladders and reach overhead to perform clubhouse maintenance.
     o Frequent step up/down and to safely operate and enter and exit golf carts and vehicles.
     o Occasional lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds from floor to overhead to empty buckets of range balls into machine.
     o Occasional repetitive lifting of up to 75 pounds.
     o Ability to operate a variety of equipment, including pickup trucks, golf cars, and other golf operations related equipment.

The Golf Shop Assistant is a key member of the team who serves the purpose of helping customers truly enjoy their time
at CommonGround Golf Course. They represent and uphold the high-quality standards the facility represents and must
present a professional image at all times. This position is a key player in controlling the flow of information to our
customers and guests. They are expected to be knowledgeable about all elements of the golf operation and can serve as
a resource for the entire staff. Position duties include:
DUTIES
Maintain an active understanding of the overall golf operation, communication systems, procedures, goals and
objectives of CommonGround.
Have a working knowledge of policies and procedures and actively enforce them according to established
guidelines.
Answer all incoming phone calls, serving as the primary point of contact for the facility.
Check in and book tee times for customers.
Actively promote the use of caddies for rounds of golf.
Be an active participant in merchandise sales, helping customers purchase stock items or place special orders for
product not available in the golf shop.
Assist in the receipt and display of merchandise.
Manage and assist starters and outside service staff with their responsibilities as needed.
Follow daily cash register and cash handling protocols.
Maintain a clean working environment. This includes re-organizing or re-stocking merchandise, wiping down
surfaces, taking out trash and cleaning primary restrooms.
Effectively communicate with the outside operations to help manage play.
Stay informed of all daily activities and course promotions.
Assist the F&B operation with the delivery of food and drink items to the golf course when needed.
Assist with the setup and execution of a league play and tournaments.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, POS Systems, and Electronic Tee Sheets.
Ability to work nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays if needed.
Interested in golf or golf retail.
Self-motivated
Great people skills
