The Lead Cook at CommonGround is a unique position within the F&B industry. During the golf season, the F&B operation consists of a high-quality bar menu and a banquet menu that is used to support the many tournaments hosted at the facility. Although the position is fast paced and demanding during the in-season, the six months during the off-season allows the Lead Cook the opportunity to have an excellent quality of life with a very limited menu and extra time off.
- Plate and garnish meal items in accordance with recipes provided
- Supervise the work of line cooks to ensure that all given tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Ensure that all cooking stations are adequately stocked with the necessary meal ingredients and cooking equipment
- Ensure that all cooking stations and kitchen surfaces are cleaned and disinfected before and after each shift
- Adhere to standard food rotation practices to reduce food wastage and minimize the risk of contamination
- Assessing the quality of delivered food supplies to ensure that it meets restaurant standards
- Uphold quality standards as set forth by CommonGround Golf Course
- Maintain a professional image at all times
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Act as the Manager on Duty in the absence of upper-level management
- Oversee the training, scheduling and supervision of the kitchen staff

- Develop high quality bar menu suitable for a golf course and modify as needed

- Coordinate with the Golf Management team on all Tournament & League F&B needs
- Work closely with the Bar Manager to create and promote new and innovative F&B events and catering offerings to grow revenue

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of management/supervisory experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Organized
- Proficient in Word, Excel, & POS Systems
- Great people skills
- Culinary training preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is frequently performed indoor and outdoor with frequent exposure to extreme temperatures
- Work is performed in a daily fee golf course setting where golf operations occur year-round
- Work performed is physical in nature and requires sufficient stamina and strength to:
- Occasionally squat and kneel to perform duties
- Occasionally climb ladders and reach overhead to perform clubhouse maintenance
- Frequent step up/down and to safely operate and enter and exit golf carts and vehicles
- Occasional lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds from floor to overhead to stock products
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment, including pickup trucks, golf cars, and other golf operations related equipment

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Golf Shop Assistant is a key member of the team who serves the purpose of helping customers truly enjoy their time at CommonGround Golf Course. They represent and uphold the high-quality standards the facility represents and must present a professional image at all times. This position is a key player in controlling the flow of information to our customers and guests. They are expected to be knowledgeable about all elements of the golf operation and can serve as a resource for the entire staff. Position duties include:
COMPENSATION
$16 to $18 per hour
DUTIES
- Maintain an active understanding of the overall golf operation, communication systems, procedures, goals and objectives of CommonGround.
- Have a working knowledge of policies and procedures and actively enforce them according to established guidelines.
- Answer all incoming phone calls, serving as the primary point of contact for the facility.
- Check in and book tee times for customers.
- Actively promote the use of caddies for rounds of golf.
- Be an active participant in merchandise sales, helping customers purchase stock items or place special orders for product not available in the golf shop.
- Assist in the receipt and display of merchandise.
- Manage and assist starters and outside service staff with their responsibilities as needed.
- Follow daily cash register and cash handling protocols.
- Maintain a clean working environment. This includes re-organizing or re-stocking merchandise, wiping down surfaces, taking out trash and cleaning primary restrooms.
- Effectively communicate with the outside operations to help manage play.
- Stay informed of all daily activities and course promotions.
- Assist the F&B operation with the delivery of food and drink items to the golf course when needed.
- Assist with the setup and execution of a league play and tournaments.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, POS Systems, and Electronic Tee Sheets.
- Ability to work nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays if needed.
- Interested in golf or golf retail.

EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
Previous experience in a golf related service position is preferred.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Food and Beverage Bartender/Cart Staff is responsible for providing food and beverages to players on the course, in addition to various requests from the clubhouse that golfers may need during their round. This role may also serve as a bartender/server in the clubhouse as needed. Position duties include:
DUTIES
- Loads and unloads beverage cart daily.
- Does daily inventory of all products, both food and beverage.
- Keeps bev cart in clean and in good working order.
- Dispenses drinks to golfers either from the bev cart or from behind the bar in the club house
- Assure that all drinks are accounted for and monies are collected
- Serves customers promptly and courteously
- Observes and enforces all local, state and federal liquor laws.
- Protects course from liability and image with regards to serving intoxicated persons
- Accounts for all receipts and makes deposit.
- Must have ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have good customer service skills.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays if needed.
- Self-motivated.
- Must have a flexible summer schedule.
- Must be able to work at least 20-24 hours per week.
- Must be able to work 8-12hr shifts some days.
- Bartender or serving experience preferred but not required, we will train!
EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 21 years of age for bartender/server.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
